Father Owen is on leave during September, October and November.
A message from Fr Owen:
Hello from Ireland
Hi, all going well. Visited one of the oldest Monastery in Ireland that was ultimately destroyed on Henry VIII’s order to dissolve the monasteries. It was destroyed by English troops around 1560AD.
Father Cong is the Administrator for our parishes during this time.
CEMETERY MASSES
Mudgee Cemetery
Monday 4th November at 6pm
Gulgong’s Cemetery
Tuesday 5th November at 5pm
Rylstone’s Cemetery
Tuesday 19th November 1pm
Weather permitting, please bring a picnic rug or chairs to sit on. If it is raining, the Mass will be moved to the local church.
BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE
November is a special time of prayer and remembrance for all those who have died. The Book of Remembrance will be presented in the Offertory Procession and placed on the altar each day with the names of all who have requested prayers for family and friends.
Due to the large number of requests we are not be able to print all the names in the bulletin.
The names of the sick and those whose anniversaries occur at this time will continue to be printed.
We are asking for volunteers to help with:
- Communion to the Sick and Housebound — We need volunteers for this rewarding ministry. Training will be provided.
- Church Cleaning
- Flower decorating in the church.
- Offertory — bring up the gifts during Mass. This ministry can be done as a group or as a family.
- Welcomers — Do you have a smile and like to say hello to people, then this ministry is for you. Greeting people at the front of the church before Mass, and giving them a Bulletin and a hymn book is an important ministry and leaves a lasting impression on our community.
Interested? Please contact the Parish Office
Cushions for the pews are available in a tub at the back of the Church. Please return them after use.
GULGONG
READERS & SACRISTANS

Mass will return to Kandos on Sunday 3rd November. There will be a morning tea after mass.

World Mission Sunday
October 19-20
Social stigma, poor access to services, and the harsh Mongolian winter mean that the most vulnerable people will often struggle to access the support they need to help them get back on their feet.
Recognising this need, the Church has begun work on the House of Mercy. When complete, the House of Mercy will provide shelter to many in need, including people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, or those in need of first aid services.
As Pope Francis said during his 2023 visit to Mongolia, “This House of Mercy is meant to be the point of reference for a variety of charitable works, hands outstretched towards our brothers and sisters, struggling to navigate life’s problems. A safe haven, in other words, where people can find a listening ear and an understanding heart."
This World Mission Month, we are called to "Invite everone to the Banquet" (Matthew 22:9) and reflect on how fortunate we are to live in a place we sometimes call the ‘lucky country’.
This week, you’re invited to partner with the Church in Mongolia to help deliver essential services to people who need it most.

Windeyer Catholic Church Notice
Due to the our Windeyer Church not being used for many years and the very substantial increase in insurance for all our church properties, the Finance Committee and the Pastoral Council are discussing the sale of the Windeyer Catholic Church.
The safeguarding of the cemetery for visitation and future use is part of the discussion.
Please contact the Parish OfÏce if you have questions or comments on the sale of the church and the possible closure of the cemetery.
